Dia

Introduction

Dia is free and open source general-purpose diagramming software, developed originally by Alexander Larsson. Dia uses a controlled single document interface (CSDI) similar to GIMP and Inkscape.

Usage

Compute Systems Invocation Version(s)
FreeBSD (32-bit) % /usr/local/bin/dia 0.96.1 (default)
Red Hat Linux (64-bit) % /usr/bin/dia 0.94 (default)

Notes

  1. We can't upgrade our Red Hat Linux 64-bit installations of dia to the latest version until we migrate those servers to RHEL release 5. New versions of dia require upgraded system libraries such as glib, gtk2, cairo, and pixman. We haven't upgraded the RHEL 64-bit servers from release 4 to release 5 because we don't have Sun Ray 5 licenses yet. (June 25, 2009)
