What is a Service Catalog?

A service catalog is a knowledgebase of technical service offerings. We try to make our CSE IT Service Catalog as complete and useful as possible.

We define IT service terms by linking to authoritative industry standard references and to Wikipedia. Stacy Schiff tells the story of Wikipedia in a good article titled "Know It All", published in The New Yorker magazine.

CIT provides an 'Alerts' web page to inform the campus community of known outages and technical problems. If you suspect that something is wrong, please check this page first so you don't report a known problem that is already in the process of being resolved.

As of Summer 2017, your CSE password is the same as your UBIT password. If you forget your UBIT/CSE password, please follow this procedure:


May I Download Microsoft Software for Free?

UB participates in Microsoft's DreamSpark program. UB decanal or departmental policies determine whether you qualify for a Microsoft DreamSpark account. Microsoft DreamSpark accounts are only valid for the durations of semesters in which you're registered for the courses listed below.

  1. If you are registered in one or more CSE courses, you will be issued a Microsoft DreamSpark account that will be valid for that semester. You'll receive the notification email early in the semester.
  2. If you are registered in specific MGA accounting course sections, you will be issued a Microsoft DreamSpark account that will be valid for that semester. Microsoft DreamSpark accounts are not issued to other Management students.
  3. Engineering students who wish to be issued a Microsoft DreamSpark account but are not registered in one or more CSE courses should contact senshelp@buffalo.edu.
